refer. fer desfer (redo. do and undo)

Ephemeral popular reconstruction project, executed in three phases.

First phase. Climb called by the artist to the hill of Sant Martirià de Banyoles, accompanied by 50 volunteers. The event consisted of carrying the necessary material for the intervention on the ruins of the chapel, and remembering the ancient procession that took place from the fourteenth century to the early twentieth century, in a similar journey, with the remains of the patron saint of Banyoles. Approximate distance traveled: 1,500 meters. Loaded material: 39 sections of metal tube arch.

Second phase. Ephemeral intervention on the remains of the chapel of Puig de Sant Martirià with an assembly of 13 metal arches. Both the 5 central arches and the 8 lateral arches were built on metal bases located at the birth of the ancient vaults. The assembly took place in 6 hours and was dismantled 30 hours after it was installed, due to security requirements and permits (publicly accessible private property / protected archaeological site). The whole process was filmed for later exhibition.

Third phase. Exhibition / intervention at La Factoria de les Arts in Banyoles. Graphic presentation of the whole project, through a global explanation of the reasons that caused it. Intervention in the central space of the room with the structure of the intervention on the hill turned upside down and hung in suspension in the intrigue of this theatrical space. Large screen projection of the video of the assembly and disassembly in the two spaces involved, as well as the upload of the material.

2018 / September-October, in three phases. Project carried out with own financing (60%), with Verkami crowdfunding (25%) and with a subsidy from the Girona Provincial Council (15%).

The book Refer. Fer desfer is a collection of all the material of the project: the previous research work, the production of the three phases, the motivations, the historical references and the final meaning of the whole.
